Animal Ally was born from a desire to provide veterinary care that truly respects the needs of every animal and human involved. We are an independent, small animal practice serving Portland, Oregon and surrounding suburbs. This isn’t just a job for us; it’s a calling rooted in trust, compassion, and a belief that veterinary care can and should be different.
Mobile veterinarian care allows us to meet pets where they’re most comfortable, reducing stress and fostering trust through in-home visits. For many families, this approach offers not only convenience but also a genuine connection that’s often missing in traditional healthcare.
Our house-call approach is deeply personal. Animals and their caregivers depend on us to be kind, skilled, and honest. We believe in treating each client and patient as an individual, offering tailored recommendations that honor their physical, emotional, and financial needs.
Through Animal Ally, we hope to create a growing community in Portland and surrounding suburbs of pet lovers who value kindness, empathy, and personalized care. Our goal is to engage in meaningful connections with every family we work with, blending professionalism with the warmth of an old-time family doctor—while adding a modern twist.
Hi, I’m Dr. Tisha Posey, the founder and primary veterinarian at Animal Ally. I’ve been in the Portland area since 2014. I grew up in the south but, ever since seeing movies like The Goonies, Harry and the Hendersons, and Ewoks: The Battle for Endor in the 80s, I’ve been obsessed with the Pacific Northwest. I’m infatuated with animals and also with nature and the outdoors in general. We are so lucky to be near one of the most pet friendly cities in the country and surrounded by lush forests, scenic rivers, and so much beautiful coast in the Pacific Northwest.
My partner, Chris, and I grew up in the same small town in Oklahoma but didn’t meet until we were 16. We were fortunate enough to find each other and independently had similar goals to move west and experience life’s big adventure in Oregon. Our two dogs and two cats are our kids, and we feel very grateful to have a full and meaningful life here. Our dogs are Apollo (a silly, loving and stubborn husky mix who has a lot to say) and Bernie (an always energetic border collie mix and herder of the laser light), and the cats are Zaphod (a big, sleek, black 17 pounder who has a doctorate in kindness) and Yves (a fluffy brown tabby who is so cute he’s in danger from cuteness aggression regularly).
When not working, I love to spend my time hiking, gardening, hanging with my family, hyperfocusing on a project and traveling around locally in our campervan or internationally by whatever means necessary. I initially decided to become a vet because I wanted to learn about and be able to help animals. I’m so fortunate to have the opportunity to through Animal Ally to help even more pets and humans.
